A few questions to ask yourself…
Are you ready to take the leap into solopreneurship?
If you are seriously considering starting your own business, it’s important to ask yourself a series of questions to determine if owning a business is the right step for you.
Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers ~Tony Robbins
Here is a series of questions that can act as a starting point for you.
What am I passionate about?
What do I love to do that – once I begin doing it day in and day out – I will continue to love?
(If you’re considering making money from a hobby) Will I still love my “Hobby” when it becomes my “job”?
What “service” or “product” will I offer that I enjoy – and people want?
What do I know about running a business? (Am I willing to learn what I don’t know?)
Who do I know that can help/mentor me through the process?
Who do I know that will be there to support me, even when the going gets rough.
Can I count on myself to encourage and support me when things get rough? or will I crumble under the pressure?
What experiences, skills and talents do I have to offer?
What am I willing – and interested – in learning to expand my business as it grows?
What is my goal for 1 yr, 5, 10? is it realistic?
What is my vision? My fantasy? My biggest desire?
Answer these questions honestly. Dive deeper, ask more. Don’t stop until you have the answers you need (and then ask new questions)
List any areas where you find resistance, and remember resistance does not mean STOP. Sometimes it simply points out an area where you need to learn more or develop skills before you take that leap into business ownership.
Take your time, build a strong foundation. You will thank yourself in a year or two for doing so.
